The vast renovations are complete, and
Turtle Bay Resort is better than ever. Unfortunately, they are
also much more expensive than ever, but this is a special place
and so we recommend it enthusiastically! For photography and video, it is on our top two list. Take a look at some of our work here. Try renting one of the
townhouses, that is the best deal if you don't need an oceanview and are traveling with a medium to large group.

For northshore B & B's, nothing
can compare with Ke'Iki beach bungalows on remote Ke'iki beach.
There is no surf at this beach, so it is not overrun with people.

is also a wonderful B & B location. Ke'nui is near pipeline
surf break, so there is much more people and action happening
there.
Westin
Moana Surfrider is the oldest standing hotel in Hawaii, and
is classic, understated Hawaiian elegance. Photography there is
superb. Right on the beach in Waikiki, the Grand Salon has been converted into a restaurant and is no longer a ballroom, but you can make reservations for smaller groups after your ceremony. Local people love it
as much as visiting couples. Call catering at 923-2889. Please

The
Royal Hawaiian Hotel is the other classic, old time Hawaiian
Waikiki hotel that we recommend very highly. The architecture
is very nice, yet different from the Moana. Photography is outstanding
here for sure. Let them know we recommended you! 923-7311
Paradise Cove is located on the Leeward
Coast, in the famous Ko'olina area. It is a great place for photos
and video. It is hot out there, so we recommend dressing down
after Ceremony and Formals are completed. Many love their Luau
and show. It is a very large and busy tourist luau spot, so be sure that is what you want. It is not quiet and intimate. Prices are reasonable. Call or email us for more detailed

Sheraton Waikiki hotel has a small room
called The Ni'ihau room which has a large lanai overlooking the
ocean and Diamond head. That room is very special, and one of
a kind in Waikiki. It only seats about 60, but offers you the
best view in Waikiki without a doubt. This room is an absolute
gem, and we recommend it along with beautiful ballrooms that can
accommodate small groups and large receptions of 600+. We recommend that couples be very clear and concise when working with Sheraton staff regarding every detail related to your reception. 922-4422
Hale Koa hotel is the military facility
in Waikiki for military folks and their friends. The service here
is absolutely the best in Hawaii for the price, and much better
than hotels that charge considerably more. It is very popular
with local couples. Photography here is quite good, we know all
the best spots from hundreds of Weddings photographed here. The
expansive grounds are very nice. 955-0555
The Kahala is away from Waikiki, and is
a five-star hotel. The elegance here is understated, classic Hawaiian
style. It is a superb Wedding location with wonderful photography
inside and out. The service is warm and gracious, and the location
is romantic and generally quiet. Prices here are quite expensive
with the new owners and management. Security is as good as it
gets, U.S. Presidents have stayed here for decades. The resident
dolphins offer a unique in the water experience for everyone,
and they can be hired to jump behind you for photos. 739-8888
The Ihilani resort and spa is a fabulous
place in every way. The natural cove is superb for photos and
video, as is the entire hotel and grounds. We do recommend having
your reception outside on the grass ocean side if possible. This
is a fancy place, and we feel it is very special and worth more

Haiku Gardens on the windward side of Oahu
is a fabulously lush & colorful garden setting, and offers
just about anything you might desire for Ceremony and Reception.
It can be a rainy place, and so we recommend it for Weddings from
July through September. Their chapel is quite nice if you wish
to have an indoor ceremony, and the food is outstanding, as is
their reception area overlooking one of the nicest garden settings
in Hawaii. Jill, the coordinator is fabulous to work with. 247-6671.
Schrader's Inn on Kaneohe bay is a unique
place, offering a wonderful Ceremony site on the water, and old
style 3-story bungalows with fantastic ocean views from many
rooms. We recommend a north shore photo
and video tour before or after your Ceremony. The north shore
is just down the road from Schrader's, which is located in the
scenic He'eia Kea area. 239-5711
Olomana Gardens is at the base of the
mighty and majestic Koolau mountains in Waimanalo, and is our
first choice for having a relaxed and down home ceremony and
reception. Beautiful gardens and setting, no rush kind of place
because the owners are that way. You can have live entertainment
without worrying about noise complaints. 259-0162.
Sea Life Park is also in Waimanalo,
and they have built a gorgeous, quaint Chapel overlooking Makapuu
beach and lighthouse. Wonderfully dramatic setting. 259-7933.
Ministers
Reverend Wendell Kalanikapuaenui Silva
is our first choice for a traditional Hawaiian Ceremony performed
by a Hawaiian. Rev. Silva has an exceptional reputation, and
he also is famous here in Hawaii. His Ceremonies are sincere,
wonderful and inspiring. He chants, asking God for his Blessings
upon the site and people present. Kahu, as he is affectionately
called, often tears up during your Ceremony, as his heart is
in the right place. He has a Congregation, and serves very nicely

Reverend Frank Mak of Joyful Christian
Ministries is a fabulous and Joyful Minister, who has an incredible
calming effect on everyone. He is quite famous in Hawaii for
his Weddings, and comes highly recommended. 808.536.5224.
Reverend Chip Wheeler officiated at the wedding of our principal
Wedding Photographer here at A Special Moment, and we greatly
applaud his support to preserve Traditional Marriage. Chip is
fluent in both English and Japanese, and is highly recommended.

At Turtle Bay, the florists located
in the hotel are great if you are having your Wedding on the

downtown, offers outstanding leis & flowers for great prices.
Fresh local flowers such as white and yellow ginger have the
